Juhlin's goal gives UIS women OT soccer win

Maggie Juhlin’s game-winning goal in overtime gave the University of Illinois Springfield a 1-0 victory against Judson Wednesday and earned the Prairie Stars’ a 3-0 record for the first time in program history.

Juhlin scored on a cross from teammate Karisa Rogers at Kiwanis Stadium. She is the first UIS women’s player to score an overtime goal.

The Stars outshot Judson 30-2. They hit the post or crossbar three times in the second half. Judson fell to 3-1.

UIS is two wins from tying the program record for wins in a single season.

It opens Great Lakes Valley Conference play at 5 p.m. Friday against Quincy (0-1-1) at Kiwanis Stadium.
