Senior Zach Allevi tallied two second-half goals and the University of Illinois Springfield won 3-0 over Quincy in a Great Lakes Valley Conference opener on Friday at Kiwanis Stadium.
It is the first victory of the season for the Prairie Stars (1-2 overall, 1-0 in GLVC).
Senior Jack Coombes put UIS ahead 1-0 in the first half.
The Stars out shot Quincy 11-8. The Hawks had 10 corner kicks to UIS’ 3. UIS sophomore goalkeeper Tommy Geile made four saves.
